Privacy Policy


This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit our websites, including www.weareknitters.com and its regional versions, buy from us, or contact us. It applies to customers and visitors in all the markets we sell to.

1. Who we are

We Are Knitters is a brand operated by Gocase Int Coöperatief U.A. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the Netherlands with Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 65322525 and registered office at Sterrenhof 7, 3511 EV Utrecht, the Netherlands.

We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For any question about this policy or your personal data, email info@weareknitters.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Data you give us. Your name, email address, billing and delivery addresses, phone number, order details, account login details, messages you send to customer service, and any information you provide when you enter a competition, answer a survey or leave a review.

Payment data. Payments are processed by our e-commerce platform and payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, but we do not receive or store your full card number.

Data collected automatically. When you use our websites, we collect technical and usage data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products added to your basket and the site that referred you. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies; see section 7.

Data from third parties. Delivery status from carriers, fraud-check results from payment providers, and campaign performance information from advertising platforms.

3. How we use your data and our legal basis

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we need a legal basis for each use of your personal data:

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time (see section 9). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that has already taken place.

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where needed for the purposes above, with:

  • Service providers that process data on our behalf, such as our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment providers, warehouse and fulfilment partners, carriers, email marketing and customer service tools, and IT providers;
  • Advertising and analytics platforms, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, when you have consented to the relevant cookies;
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants, auditors and lawyers;
  • Other companies in our group, where needed to run our business;
  • Authorities, courts or regulators, where required by law; and
  • A buyer or successor, if all or part of our business is sold or reorganised.

Our service providers may use your data only on our instructions and under contracts that protect it. We do not sell your personal data for money.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Meta and Google, process personal data outside the European Economic Area, for example in Canada and the United States. When this happens, we rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep your data

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to make our websites work, for example to keep items in your basket and complete checkout. These do not require consent.

With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how our websites are used, and marketing cookies and pixels (such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads) to measure our advertising and show you relevant ads on other websites and apps. You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time through the cookie banner or the "Cookie settings" link on our websites.

When you consent to the Meta Pixel, information about your visit is sent to Meta. We and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for collecting and transmitting that data; Meta is responsible for its further use. Meta's privacy policy explains how it processes data and how you can exercise your rights with Meta.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online service is completely secure, so please keep your account password confidential and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.

9. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • restrict our processing of your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object at any time to direct marketing; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, email info@weareknitters.com. We will respond within one month, and we may ask you to verify your identity. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). You can also contact the authority in the country where you live or work.

10. Additional information for US residents

Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal data we collect about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising or of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data as those terms are defined in state law. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels may count as "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws.

You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time through the "Cookie settings" link on our website. Where required by applicable law, we honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser. To make any other request, email info@weareknitters.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

11. Children

Our websites are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make material changes, we will tell you by email or through a notice on our websites.
